As a part of the Next Generation CRM Project for Deutsche Telekom project, which is to be rolled out to 4 countries in Europe in the first phase followed by other countries where Telekom was present we had the following deliverables:
- Stitch the solutions put by the various kernel teams (Order Management, Sales Force Automation, Marketing etc) into one usable kernel design.
- A secondary role was to check the configuration done by the systems integrator against the Siebel design guidelines and perform routine configuration reviews.
- Responsible for drawing out the Siebel upgrade roadmap.
- Point of escalation for the teams to help them with business processes and the mapping to Siebel.
- Ensure the process adherence to the eTom framework.
- Assist the localization teams with the customization process of the kernel design to suit their specific needs.
- Siebel Loyalty Management Kernel Design Team lead.
- Siebel Loyalty Management escalation point for all the local teams in the various countries.
Vodafone Germany , one of the largest telecommunications providers in Germany, was using Siebel for the fixed line business through an acquisition . The Siebel system had been upgraded from Version 6 to Version 7 and then to version 8.0 . However, the configuration and the customization on Siebel was consistent with the development guidelines for Siebel 6.0 which lead to a fair bit of configuration issues.

- Audit the Siebel Server infrastructure.
- Provide best practice guidelines for development.
